The Tadamon Accelerator for Food Security, funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is a transformative initiative aimed at combating food insecurity in conflict-affected regions.
Targeting Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), the accelerator fosters innovative solutions to address food access and sustainability challenges in 12 priority countries, including Nigeria, Afghanistan, and Yemen.
What the Accelerator Offers
- Grants: Up to $40,000 for 50 top-performing CSOs, with total funding of $850,000.
- Eligibility: Open to CSOs, NGOs, and social enterprises in eligible countries, with projects focusing on innovation and sustainability.
- Training: 11-week online program featuring mentorship and modules on business model development, impact, project management, and fundraising.
Key Focus Areas
The program encourages CSOs to propose projects aligned with two main tracks:
- Climate-Smart Agriculture: Combines traditional methods with technologies like precision farming, smart irrigation, and digital tools to promote sustainable practices.
- Tech for Food, Energy, and Water: Employs technologies like solar power, IoT-enabled water systems, and blockchain to improve access to vital resources.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants must be registered CSOs operating in one of the 12 targeted countries or partner with local organizations. Proposals should demonstrate innovation, feasibility, scalability, and measurable impact, with a strong emphasis on gender responsiveness and support for vulnerable groups.
Application Process
Interested CSOs must sign up on the Tadamon platform, complete the application form, and provide required documents. The program will evaluate applications based on their potential for innovation, impact, and alignment with food security objectives.
